Meet The Speakers
Anne Mannion is an Associate Solicitor at Swan Turton LLP where she advises on intellectual property disputes involving copyright, trade mark and advertising law. She regularly speaks at seminars and has recently provided comment and opinion on copyright matters to The Photography Show, BAPLA: Focus on Copyright and BBC Radio 4. She is a Board Member of the Association of Photographers and contributed to the legal sections of the Association of Photographer’s guide for professional photographers, Beyond the Lens. Before starting her career in law Anne was a professional actress, theatre and film producer and is an alumna of the National Film and Television School. Anne is a member of Equity and Bafta.
Douglas McLachlan is a senior associate in Anderson Strathern’s corporate department and a highly experienced lawyer. He works on all aspects of IP/IT law, including the protection and exploitation of trade marks, copyright, branding, patents, know-how, database and design rights. Douglas also has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts such as software licences, agency, distribution and franchise agreements. Other expertise includes the provision of advice on advertising and marketing, passing off, and a range of data protection and freedom of information issues. Sharing the benefits of his extensive knowledge and experience, Douglas acts as an online tutor for the Edinburgh University LL.M in Innovation, Technology and the Law.
