I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and hold an MA in Latin American Studies and an MA in Community + Regional Planning from the University of New Mexico. Outside of academia I've been fortunate to work for many years in Albuquerque as a stage manager and community arts organizer as the co-chair of EmergeABQ,
member of Albuquerque’s Downtown Arts & Cultural District steering committee
, and organizer for Umbrella Week.
I was one of three New Mexican’s invited to attend President Obama’s “South By South Lawn” initiative, and is a founding member of the 305 Forum
, a global entrepreneurship network developed in conjunction with the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Center and Global Entrepreneurship Community. My goal is to combine my passion for community engagement and urban development with my passion for art and creatives to grow more creative cities and creative industries. I speaks Spanish fluently and Portuguese conversationally.
